Richmond, KY(September 25, 2017) The promotion trio of Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz would like to announce that the 2017 racing season has concluded as of September 23, 2017.  The Yantz family has elected to forgo racing on September 30, 2017 in honor of the late-Harold Hardgrove.  The Yantz’s would like to wish Brandon and his crew a successful and safe weekend to honor the late fellow track promoter and Brandon’s late father, Harold Hardgrove.

The 3rd Annual Finn Watson Memorial event that had been rescheduled for Saturday October 7, 2017 in memory of passed Central Kentucky racer Finn Watson that was set to be sanctioned by the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Late Model Championship Series has also been cancelled and will not be contested.

The Yantz family would also like to allow our racers and fans the opportunity to visit other local tracks and venues that will be racing during the remainder of the 2017 racing season and therefore will cease operations at Richmond Raceway in Richmond, KY effective immediately.  The Yantz family asks that everyone please go out and visit their local tracks and support the dirt track community.  They request that everyone support the folks who give unselfishly of their time and talents to keep the sport alive that everyone so dearly love.

While the Yantz family realizes the announcement is abrupt, they feel it is time to hang up their racing flags and enjoy some downtime with family and friends.  The Yantz family wants to work at making up for lost time and missed opportunities with the precious people in their lives and hope that everyone will take time to enjoy friends and family.

The Yantz family would like to thank the racers, fans, and crew members for supporting them during their tenures as promoters at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY and Richmond Raceway and for being a part of an exciting time in thier lives and racing career from 2005 until now.
