Hurricane Harvey Takes Checkered Flag at Richmond Raceway for Saturday September 2

Richmond, KY(September 1, 2017) Richmond Raceway track promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz were set for racing action on Labor Day Weekend at the 3/10-mile semi-banked clay oval known as “The Beast of the East” on Saturday September 2 with the Four Cylinder Rumble presented by Quality Homes of KY for the Baker Iron and Metal Stock Four Cylinders, plus all other divisions.  However, the remnants of Hurricane Harvey had dumped a huge amount of rain over the track and grounds on Friday and with a forecast of more into Friday night and early Saturday morning, track officials have been left with no other option but to postpone the racing events scheduled for Saturday September 2.  A make-up date for this event will be announced in the near future.

Of note, Richmond Raceway has been listed for sale, but the Yantz family will conclude the 2017 racing season with the events that have been posted on the 2017 racing schedule prior to the start of the current 2017 season.
