Richmond Raceway Moves June 24 Program to July 1 with Late Models Added to Program


Richmond, KY(June 12, 2017) Richmond Raceway track promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz are announcing an adjustment to the racing schedule at the 3/10-mile semi-banked clay oval better known as “The Beast of the East” that involves the race dates on June 24 and July 1.

There will now be NO racing at Richmond Raceway on Saturday June 24, as track co-promoter Larry Yantz will be making a trip to South Dakota to watch one of his grandchildren play in the 13U Soccer national championship event.

The 3rd Annual Saturday Night Showdown will now shift to Saturday July 1 with the AR Bodies KDRA Super Stocks racing for $1,000 to win and the Baker Iron and Metal Stock Four Cylinders will race for $750 to win.  The Sonic Late Models will now be on the Saturday Night Showdown racing card, racing for $1,500 to win, while the Eagle Financial Services Open Wheel Modifieds will compete for $1,000, and Mini-Cup/Cyclones will also be in action as an added attraction for $100 to win.

Richmond Raceway’s next event will be Saturday June 17 as the track presents the 3rd Annual Butch Shay Memorial, paying Sonic Late Models $2,100 to win and the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series racing for $2,100 to win, plus a full racing program for the AR Bodies KDRA Super Stocks and Baker Iron and Metal Stock Four Cylinders.
