                   Richmond, KY(April 9, 2017) Richmond Raceway track promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah  Yantz are set to present a pair of open practice events for all divisions that  will be in competition at the 3/10 mile semi-banked clay oval known as “The  Beast of the East” during the 2017 racing season.     
                  Richmond Raceway will present their first open practice  event on Saturday April 15 and will see the gates open at 4:00 p.m., with  practice laps taking place from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.  The second practice event will take place on  Friday April 21, with gates set to open at 4:00 p.m. and practice laps taking  place from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.   For both the open practice dates on Saturday April 15 and Friday April  21, the general admission area will be open and will be free to those wanting  to watch practice, while a pit pass will be $20.   
                  Richmond Raceway will officially begin its 51st season of  dirt track racing competition on Saturday April 22, with the track’s 51st  Annual Season Opener featuring the track’s Late Model division racing for  $2,000 to win that evening.  Also  scheduled for action at Richmond Raceway’s 51st Annual Season Opener event will  be Open Wheel Modifieds racing for $1,000 to win, KDRA Super Stocks racing for  $750 to win, and Stock Four Cylinders racing for $500 to win.  All divisions will utilize the practice/time  trial combo format to determine heat race starting positions.  Richmond Raceway also uses transponder  timing/scoring and the rental fee for a transponder is $10.  RACEceivers are also mandatory and must be is  use by drivers anytime they are in their cars out on the track.
