Richmond, KY(October 30, 2016) Richmond Raceway co-promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz are pleased to announce the date and details for the Richmond Raceway 2016 Awards Banquet/Cookout event to officially close out the 2016 racing season and honor the top competitors for 2016 at the 3/10 mile semi-banked clay oval better known at “The Beast of the East”.
The 2016 Richmond Raceway Awards Banquet/Cookout will take place on Sunday afternoon November 20 at Richmond Raceway at 2:00 p.m. The event will take place at the hanger building that is located just inside the entrance to the pit area at the track. The cost of the event is $10 for adults, while children ages 12 and under will be admitted free (of note, it will be $10 to attend the event for adults regardless of whether individuals participate in the meal that will be served at the ceremony).
The Awards Banquet/Cookout will see a cookout-style meal served beginning at 2:00 p.m., followed by the awards ceremony. The top ten drivers in final track points will be recognized at the event, with the drivers finishing sixth position through tenth position in their respective divisions receiving certificates, while the top five point-earning drivers in each division will receive a trophy. The track champion in each division will also receive a championship points jacket and will receive a free pit pass good for all events at Richmond Raceway in 2017. Dress for the event is casual and everyone must bring their own chair. Also, for a driver to receive their awards, the driver and/or a team member/representative must be in attendance to receive the awards.
In addition, there will be random drawings for prizes and giveaways, with some of those including a product certificate from John Weber with Bert Transmissions. The KDRA Super Stock division champion will also receive a certificate for a body kit from AR Bodies, while the Mini-Cup division champion will receive a certificate for a new chassis courtesy of Warlock Race Cars.
