Kid’s Night and Stock Four Cylinders $750 to win at Richmond Raceway Saturday May 21

 

Richmond, KY(May 15, 2016) Richmond Raceway co-promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz are set for clay slinging dirt track racing action to return to the 3/10 mile semi-banked red clay oval known as “The Beast of the East” on Saturday May 21 as the track will present Kid’s Night and a $750 to win special for the Pro-Tow Towing Stock Four Cylinders, that was originally scheduled for April 30 but was postponed due to inclement weather, along with a full racing program in all other divisions.  

Kid’s Night activities will include some drawings and giveaways for the younger race fans, along with foot races at some point during the evening’s events.  Also of note, the Butch Shay Memorial will now take place on Saturday July 16 and will take the place of the “Butterball” Tune-Up event and the winner of the Late Model portion of the Butch Shay Memorial event will be guaranteed a starting spot in the “Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial on August 20. 

Richmond Raceway will present Kid’s Night on Saturday May 21 and will feature special activities for the young race fans and will be highlighted by the Pro-Tow Towing Stock Four Cylinders racing for $750 to win in an 18 lap feature contest.  Also on the Kid’s Night racing docket at Richmond Raceway on Saturday May 21 will be the Sonic Late Models racing for $1,500 to win in a 25 lap main event and the Phantom Racing Gear Modifieds racing for $1,000 to win in a 20 lap main event.  In addition, the AR Bodies KDRA Super Stocks will race for $750 to win in a 15 lap main event and the Warlock Race Cars Mini-Cup/Cyclones will race for $100 to win in a 10 lap feature contest.  All divisions will utilize the practice/time trials combo format to determine heat race starting positions.  Transponders are used for timing/scoring purposes (can be rented at the track) and RACEceivers are also mandatory in all divisions.  All competitors are urged to be at the track and signed-in by 5:30 p.m. as that is when driver registration closes.  Also of note, the three highest finishing drivers that utilize a Crate engine powered car will be eligible for bonuses.  The highest finishing driver using a Crate engine will receive a $100 bonus, second highest finishing driver using a Crate engine will receive a $75 bonus, and the third highest finishing driver using a Crate engine will receive a $50 bonus 

Activities for the Kid’s Night at Richmond Raceway on Saturday May 21 will see the pit area open at 3:00 p.m. and the general admission area open at 4:30 p.m.  Driver registration will close at 5:30 p.m. and the drivers meeting will begin at 5:45 p.m., with practice set to begin at 6:15 p.m.  Racing is set to take the take the green flag at 7:30 p.m.  All times listed are EDT.  Ticket prices for the Kid’s Night at Richmond Raceway on Saturday May 21 in the general admission area will be $15 for adults, with children ages 12 and under admitted FREE.  A pit pass will be $35, children ages 6 to 12 will be $15, and children ages 5 and under are FREE.
