                   Richmond, KY(July 1, 2016) Richmond Raceway co-promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah  Yantz will return to action at the 3/10 mile semi-banked red clay oval known as  “The Beast of the East” on Saturday July 9 as the track will present their  annual Modified Mayhem event paying $1,500 to win for the Phantom Racing Gear  Modifieds, along with a full racing program for the Sonic Late Models, AR  Bodies KDRA Super Stocks, Pro-Tow Towing Stock Four Cylinders, and Warlock Race  Cars Mini-Cup/Cyclones.   
                  Richmond Raceway will present Modified Mayhem on Saturday  July 9 and the Phantom Racing Gear Modifieds will be highlighted in a $1,500 to  win event.  Also on the Saturday July 9  racing program will be the Sonic Late Models racing for $1,500 to win, AR  Bodies KDRA Super Stocks racing for $750 to win, Pro-Tow Towing Stock Four  Cylinders racing for $500 to win, and Warlock Race Cars Mini-Cup/Cyclones  racing for $100 to win.  All divisions  will utilize the practice/time trials combo format to determine heat race  starting positions.  Also of note, the  three highest finishing drivers that utilize a Crate engine powered car in the  Late Model division will be eligible for bonuses.  The highest finishing driver using a Crate  engine will receive a $100 bonus, second highest finishing driver using a Crate  engine will receive a $75 bonus, and the third highest finishing driver using a  Crate engine will receive a $50 bonus.   Transponders are used for timing/scoring purposes (can be rented at the  track for $10 or $5 fee if a driver has their own) and RACEceivers are also  mandatory in all divisions.  All  competitors are urged to be at the track and signed-in by 5:30 p.m. as that is  when driver registration closes.  Jimmy  Crabtree of Irvine, KY is the defending champion of the Modified Mayhem event. 
                  Activities for the Modified Mayhem event at Richmond  Raceway on Saturday July 9 will see the pit area opening at 3:00 p.m. and the  general admission area opening at 4:30 p.m.   Driver registration will close at 5:30 p.m. and the drivers meeting will  begin at 5:45 p.m., with practice set to begin at 6:15 p.m.  Racing is set to take the take the green flag  at 7:30 p.m.  All times listed are  EDT.  Ticket prices for the Modified  Mayhem in the general admission area will be $15 for adults, with children ages  12 and under free with a paid adult.  A  pit pass will be $35 for adults, children ages 6 to 12 will be $15, with  children ages 5 and under free.
