Richmond, KY(August 6th, 2016) Richmond Raceway was set for the KDRA Super Stock Nationals on Saturday August 6 but rains would make their way through the area and force track promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz to have to cancel the racing program.  The track will not be in action on Saturday August 13.
Rain began falling on the already watered and wet racing surface that was being prepared for the evening’s competition beginning at 4:25 p.m. and quit around 5:00 p.m., but the damage was done as the track had water pooled along the inside of the surface and making the entire racing surface extremely wet and soft and would have been impossible to get ready by the scheduled 6:15 p.m. practice time, along with the track’s midnight curfew, left track officials no other option but to cancel the program.  Track officials will look at the remainder of the schedule and attempt to reschedule the $2,000 to win AR Bodies KDRA Super Stock Nationals and $500 to win special for the Warlock Race Cars Mini-Cup/Cyclones.
For those competitors and race teams that were already on the grounds, those pit passes purchased will be good at the next event at the track on Saturday August 20 and all that will need to be done is to bring your pit pass armbands to the pit gate and pay the difference in the price of a pit pass for the August 20 event.  For Mini-Cup/Cyclone competitors and teams, that division will not be in action on Saturday August 20 and those pit pass armbands can be used beginning on September 3.  Those drivers on the grounds at the time of the cancellation will receive show-up points.
For individuals that purchased tickets in the general admission area on August 6, those tickets will be good for use on Saturday August 20.  All patrons have to do is present their ticket at the general admission window and pay the difference in the price of a general admission ticket for the August 20 event.
The next event at Richmond Raceway will be the 29th Annual Sunoco Race Fuels Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial will take place at Richmond Raceway on Saturday August 20 and will feature the Southern Nationals Bonus Series Super Late Models in a full program of practice, time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 59 lap, $10,059 to win (plus lap leader money), $500 to start 29th Annual Sunoco Race Fuels Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial A-Main contest.  Also on the racing docket for Saturday August 20 will be the Phantom Racing Gear Modifieds racing for $1,259 to win, AR Bodies KDRA Super Stocks racing for $1,059 to win, and Pro Tow Towing Stock Four Cylinders racing for $759 to win.
