                   Richmond, KY(December 11, 2015) Richmond Raceway track promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah  Yantz are excited to announce some dates for various race events that will take  place during the 2016 racing season at the 3/10 mile semi-banked red clay oval  better known as “The Beast of the East”.   The complete 2016 racing season schedule of events will be released just  prior to the Christmas holiday. 
                  Richmond Raceway will have an open practice for all  divisions that will compete at the track during the 2016 season on Saturday  March 26.  The 50th season of dirt track  racing at Richmond Raceway will officially take the green flag on Saturday  April 2, with a full racing program for Late Models, Modifieds, KDRA Super  Stocks, Stock Four Cylinders, and Mini-Cup/Cyclones. 
                  The first big money Super Late Model event will take  place on Saturday April 16 and will be the 2nd Annual Spring Shootout, paying  $4,000 to win for the ULTIMATE Regional Late Model tour.  The Ray Cook promoted Southern Nationals  Bonus Series will make its first of two visits to the track on Saturday June 25  as the 12th Annual Iron-Man Classic will take place, paying an event record  $10,000 to win the 50 lap main event (the race will be 50 laps in honor of the  50th season of racing at the track).  The  track’s marquee event will move to August for 2016 as the 29th Annual Paul  “Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial will again pay $10,000 to win and will once  again be sanctioned by the Southern National Bonus Series on Saturday August  20, with the race again being 59 laps in distance in honor of the Duncan’s  Delight #59 that Wooldridge drove to many victories in his Hall of Fame career. 
                  Other events that will grace the 2016 racing schedule  during the 2016 race season for Late Models will include the Finn Watson Memorial,  Butch Shay Memorial, “Butterball” Tune-Up, and the Beast of the East Clash,  with dates for those events to be announced once the final schedule is  released. 
                  The Modified Mayhem event will return to the second for  the Modified division, along with a couple of more extra money paying events as  well.  There will be at least a pair of  American Dirt Allstar sanctioned KDRA Super Stock events, with one of those  being the KDRA Super Stock Nationals.   The Four Cylinder Fury will once again be on the schedule for the Stock  Four Cylinder division and will pay $1,000 to win, along with an additional  $1,000 to win event during the season for the division.
