Family Meal Deal/Kid’s Night and Full Racing Program at Richmond Raceway May 2  

Richmond, KY (April 26, 2015) Richmond Raceway co-promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz will present their first racing program for the month of May on Saturday evening May 2 at the 3/10 mile clay oval known as “The Beast of the East” as the track will present Family Meal Deal/Kid’s Night and the scheduled event will feature a full racing program, with all divisions in competition.

The event is Family Meal Deal/Kid’s Night and will feature a $3.50 meal deal at the food courts that will include a hot dog, chips, and 22 ounce fountain drink.  Also, there will be special activities for children age 12 and under in attendance that evening as well, with those activities to be announced later this week.

Richmond Raceway will present Family Meal Deal/Kid’s Night on Saturday May 2 and all divisions will be in competition.  The Barry Turner of Century 21 Advantage Realty Super Late Models will be in action, racing for $1,200 to win, while the Modified division will be in action as well, racing for $800 to win.  The REVELution Pro Late Models will be in action on Saturday May 2 and will race for $600 to win, while the KDRA Super Stocks will compete for $500 to win.  Completing the racing card at Richmond Raceway for Saturday May 2 will be the Four Cylinder division, racing for $300 to win and the Warlock Race Cars Mini-Cup Cyclone division will be in action for $100.  The Super Late Model, Modified, Pro Late Model, and KDRA Super Stock divisions will utilize the practice/time trials combo format, with their best time in practice determining their heat race starting positions.  Four Cylinders and Mini-Cup/Cyclones will line up for heat events based on the draw.

Richmond Raceway uses a transponder scoring system to time and score the cars.  Drivers must pick up a transponder at driver registration ($10 rental fee; $5 if they have their own) and the transponder must be mounted on the right-rear axle tube of the race car.  Also, for a driver to get paid at the end of the night, they must return their transponder when they come to pick up their prize money.  RACEceivers are also mandatory for use at Richmond Raceway in all divisions.

Activities for Family Meal Deal/Kid’s Night at Richmond Raceway on Saturday May 2 will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., with the general admission area open at 5:00 p.m.  The drivers meeting will be at 6:15 p.m, with practice/time trial combo laps set to begin around 6:30 p.m., and the green flag for the first race will wave at 7:30 p.m.  Ticket prices for Family Meal Deal/Kid’s Night on Saturday May 2 in the general admission area will be $13 for adults, with children ages 12 and under FREE.  For the pit area, adult prices will be $30, with children ages 6 to 12 costing $15, and children ages five and under FREE.  If a driver races in more than one division, that driver has to buy a second pit pass.  Also, any driver under the age of 18 will have to have a notorized release signed by both parents before that driver is eligible to compete at Richmond Raceway, due to insurance regulations.
