Richmond, KY(April 21, 2018)

The Gutter Guy Modifieds Special 1200 to Win Results:

11 Open Wheel Modifieds signed in for a chance to win 1200 dollars this Saturday. With defending track champion Jimmy Robinson setting quicktime, winning heat one, and starting on the pole many thought he had the show in the bag. Blake Brown however had other ideas, after qualifying 8th quick he came out in heat two and put on a show. Blake Brown outlasted the three way battle for the lead between Valvoline sponsored Keith Smith and Zach Powers to win heat 2 and start alongside Jimmy Robinson in the 25 lap finale. Blake Brown was on the point right from the drop of the green flag, taking the lead on the backstretch of the 1st lap of the show. Defending track champion Jimmy Robinson assumed 2nd in hopes of getting back by the young gun in the #99 machine. Mechanical issues wouldn't allow this as Jimmy Robinson would pull off and be done for the night finishing 8th. Blake Brown took home the first modified win of 2018 at Richmond, followed by Keith Smith 2nd, Jimmy Crabtree 3rd, Zach Powers 4th, and Oscar Marshall 5th.

Sonic Late Model 1500 to Win Results:

10 Late Models signed in at the Richmond Raceway dirt track for a chance to win 1500 dollars. With Todd Coffman setting fast time and defending track champion Derek Fisher timing 2nd it was already lining up to be a great night at the Beast of the East. Coffman however stumbled on the start allowing Jeff Watson to take charge of heat one lining him up on the pole of the 1500 to win feature. Derek Fisher however was on point from the beginning. Taking off and winning heat two with ease putting him right outside Jeff Watsons #11 machine. At the start of the 25 lap affair Derek Fisher threw it in hard around the top of turn one to take an early lead away from crate engine driving Watson. Todd Coffman eventually soon got around the 11 and set his sights on defending champion Derek Fisher. Running out of time Coffman was getting anxious as he got closer and closer to Fishers bumper. He threw it hard into the third corner and got in over his head costing him time on Fisher. After a late yellow the defending champion started 2018 the same way he finished 2017 collecting his first win of the new season, coming home a close 2nd was Todd Coffman, Jeff Watson 3rd, Jonathan Couch 4th, and Jason Barrett 5th.

ARBodies KDRA Super Stocks 750 to Win Results:

8 KDRA Super Stocks pulled into Richmond hoping to take home the big check but defending track champion Eddie Stewart put it right to them early. Picking up the quicktime and lining himself up for and excellent night. Stewart would go on to win heat one and start on the inside front row for the first Super Stock event of the year. Heat two however was won by Logan Preston who would be going on to start right next to the defending track champion. As they headed into the 15 lap main event Preston and Stewart strapped in ready to duke it out for the 750 dollar check. Stewart started off strong leaving Preston in his dust but Preston didn't want to sit back and watch as he started to reel him in. As the laps clicked down Preston kept cutting into the lead. Eddie Stewart just had to much moment around the very bottom of the Richmond Raceway and gave Preston no hope. Stewart would go on to a Perfect night and take home the win, Logan Preston 2nd, Tyler Collis 3rd, Jimmy Bailey 4th, and Chad Barrett 5th.

Baker Iron and Metal KDRA 4 Cylinders 500 to Win Results:

16 KDRA 4 Cylinders checked in to the night of action. Tyler Hayes came into Richmond off a win Friday night looking to double up on feature wins and defend his 2017 track championship at the RIchmond Raceway. Setting quicktime barely off the track record Tyler Hayes looked tough to beat. Brandon Creech however just getting the car fixed in time to race had ideas to spoil the defending champs weekend timing in 2nd quick and posing quite the threat to Hayes. Heat race one kicked off with Tyler Hayes showing Jeremy Howard and Dwayne Schlueter how fast his pace was going to be. Hayes dominated heat one leaving people astonished, Creech however was right with his pace in heat two. Picking up the win in heat two Creech was going to be alongside his friend Tyler Hayes. As the flag dropped on the 15 lap 500 to win event most people kept their eyes on the battle for the lead which was heating up between Hayes and Creech. As the race ran on though eyes shifted to Justin Dalton who was on the move at the top of the track inches from the wall. Dalton was up to 3rd from his 6th starting position quite quickly and coming after Creech. Hayes and Creech bumper to bumper Justin Dalton closing in to make this an exciting three car race for the lead with 5 to go. As Dalton got around Brandon Creech he set in on catching the fast Hayes. Hayes was hitting his mark every lap but Dalton was closing in. As the white flag waved Dalton had one last chance at Hayes, but couldn't get there. As Hayes picked up the win Justin Dalton came in 2nd, Brandon Creech 3rd, Brandon Henson 4th, and Dwayne Schlueter 5th it gave us a picture of what looks to be a very exciting season of 4 Cylinders at the Beast of the East.
