Finn Watson Memorial Postponed at Richmond Raceway Until Saturday October 7

 

Richmond, KY(September 13, 2017) Richmond Raceway track promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz are having to postpone the 3rd Annual Finn Watson Memorial event set for Saturday September 16 at the 3/10-mile semi-banked clay oval known as “The Beast of the East”. 

Track co-promoter Larry Yantz was notified on Tuesday morning that his winter vacation home in Florida received significant damage from Hurricane Irma that moved through the Sunshine State on Sunday and into Monday morning of this week and Yantz has had to go to Florida to secure his vacation home, assess the damage to the home, and make repairs to the property that need to be made to the property.  Mr. Yantz sincerely apologizes to all the race fans and competitors of Richmond Raceway and hopes everyone understands the reasoning for this postponement.

The 3rd Annual Finn Watson Memorial event will now take the place of the Beast of the East Clash and has been rescheduled for Saturday October 7 as the season finale at the track and will feature the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series in action for $3,000 to win, along with Eagle Financial Services Open Wheel Modifieds racing for $1,200 to win, along with AR Bodies KDRA Super Stocks racing for $1,000 to win, and Baker Iron and Metal Stock Four Cylinders racing for $750 to win.  

The next scheduled event at Richmond Raceway will take place on Saturday September 23 and will feature the rescheduled Four Cylinder Rumble presented by Quality Homes of KY, which will feature the Baker Iron and Metal Stock Four Cylinders racing for $1,200 to win, along with a full racing program for the Sonic Late Models, Eagle Financial Services Open Wheel Modifieds, and AR Bodies KDRA Super Stocks.
