Richmond Raceway Cancels September 26 Racing Program Due to Wet Grounds

Richmond, KY(September 26, 2015) After being rained out last week, Richmond Raceway was set to return to action on Saturday evening September 26 with the American Dirt Allstars sanctioned KDRA Super Stock Nationals and Fall 30 for the REVELution Race Cars Pro Late Models, along with all other divisions.  However, Mother Nature has once again altered the plans and the racing program set for Saturday September 26 has been cancelled.

Rain began falling at Richmond Raceway around 4:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon and the constant steady rains, some heavy at times, lasted past midnight and have made the parking areas somewhat soggy and made the pit area extremely wet.  With a weather forecast of little to no sun expected during the day on Saturday to help dry the pit area and parking areas out and with the predicted chance of more rain showers throughout the day, track promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz were left with no other option but to cancel the September 26 racing program.

The American Dirt Allstars sanctioned KDRA Super Stock Nationals will now become a part of the Beast of the East Clash at the season finale event at Richmond Raceway on Saturday October 3.  The REVELution Race Cars Pro Late Model $1,500 to win event that was set for September 26 will not be rescheduled, as the Pro Late Model division will not be in competition on Saturday October 3.  However, Pro Late Model drivers are encouraged to compete with the Super Late Models at the October 3 racing program, as there will be some incentive bonuses in place for those drivers that do compete with a Crate-powered engine at the Beast of the East Clash on October 3 that will be announced in the event preview press release.

The next event at Richmond Raceway will be the 2015 season finale on Saturday October 3 as the track will present the inaugural Beast of the East Clash event.  The Barry Turner of Century 21 Advantage Realty Super Late Models will compete in a 40 lap main event that will pay $5,000 to the winner.  The Modified division will compete in a 30 lap main event that will pay $2,000 to win, while the American Dirt Allstars KDRA Super Stocks will compete in the KDRA Super Stock Nationals in a 30 lap, $2,000 to win main event.  Completing the racing card on Saturday October 3 will be the Four Cylinder division racing for $500 to win in a 15 lap feature contest and the Warlock Race Cars Mini-Cup/Cyclones racing for $100 to win in a 10 lap main event.

The event will also feature the Meet the Drivers night that will take place in the infield prior to the drivers meeting and cars getting on the track from 5:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.  Race teams are encouraged to get to the track as early as possible on October 3 and are also encourage to bring candy to give to the children, driver t-shirts, autograph cards, etc. to have available during the meet and greet time with the race fans.  Driver registration will close on October 3 at 5:30 p.m., with the drivers meeting set for 5:45 p.m., with practice/time trial laps getting underway at 6:00 p.m., with racing set for the green flag at 7:30 p.m.  Also, it will be $1 hot dog night at both the main concession and pit concession areas.

Activities for the Beast of the East Clash event at Richmond Raceway on Saturday October 3 will feature earlier start times, with the pit area opening at 2:00 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 4:00 p.m.  The race fans meet and greet with the drivers and their cars will take place in the infield area from 5:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.  Driver’s registration will close promptly at 5:30 p.m.  The drivers meeting will be at 5:45 p.m, with practice/time trial combo laps set to begin around 6:00 p.m., and the green flag for the first race will wave at 7:30 p.m.  Ticket prices for the Beast of the East Clash on Saturday October 3 in the general admission area will be $25 for adults, with children ages 12 and under FREE.  For the pit area, adult prices will be $40, with children ages 6 to 12 costing $15, and children ages five and under FREE.  Those individuals with rainout tickets and pit pass bracelets from the September 19 rainout can use those to get in for the event, all individuals will have to do is pay the difference in price.
