Richmond Raceway Idle Until Butch Shay Memorial on Saturday August 15

 

Richmond, KY(July 19, 2015) Richmond Raceway co-promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz will have Richmond Raceway closed for the next three Saturday nights, but will return to action on Saturday August 15 with the inaugural Butch Shay Memorial event, paying $2,000 to win for the Barry Turner of Century 21 Advantage Realty Super Late Models and $2,000 to win for the Modified divisions. 

Richmond Raceway will be off on Saturday July 25 and Saturday August 1 for the Madison County Fair and will be closed on Saturday August 8 for the North/South 100 at Florence Speedway.

Also of note, a mistake was made in posting the finish of the Modified feature event on Saturday July 18 as Tommy Turner was listed finishing in the 21st position, but actually finished ninth, while Korey Cochran was listed as finishing ninth, but actually finished 21st.       

Richmond Raceway’s next racing action will be on Saturday August 15 and will be the inaugural Butch Shay Memorial and will see the Barry Turner of Century 21 Advantage Realty Super Late Models race for $2,000 to win and the Modifieds race for $2,000 to win.  Also on the Butch Shay Memorial racing program on Saturday August 15 will be the REVELution Race Cars Pro Late Models ($600 to win), KDRA Super Stocks ($500 to win), Four Cylinders ($300 to win), and Warlock Race Cars Mini-Cup/Cyclone ($100 to win) in a full racing program.       

Activities for the Butch Shay Memorial event at Richmond Raceway on Saturday August 15 will see the pit area open at 3:00 p.m., with the general admission area open at 4;30 p.m.  The drivers meeting will be at 6:00 p.m, with practice/time trial combo laps set to begin around 6:30 p.m., and the green flag for the first race will wave at 7:30 p.m.  Ticket prices and race payouts for the Butch Shay Memorial will be announced in an upcoming release.

Richmond Raceway last raced on Saturday July 18 and feature event winners included Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN in Barry Turner of Century 21 Advantage Realty Super Late Models, Deland Browning of East Bernstadt, KY in Modifieds, Jamey Adams of Laurelville, OH in KDRA Super Stocks, and Cole Bland of Campbellsville, KY in Warlock Race Cars Mini-Cup/Cyclones.
